Hamden

Robert (Bob) Acampora, 69, passed away on Sept. 27 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in New Haven on June 2, 1948 and grew up in the Short Beach area of Branford. The son of the late Frank Acampora Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) (Barker) Acampora, Bob lived most of his adult life in Hamden with his wife, Patricia M. (Carbo) Acampora, who died in 2013.

He leaves behind his loving son, Robert M. Acampora, Jr., his daughter-in-law, Christina (Biagioli) Acampora and two beloved grandchildren, Lucia and Gabriel, all of Clinton. He is also survived by a sister, JoAnn (James) Saccavino of East Haven. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank Acampora. Prior to his retirement, Bob was employed by Sargent Manufacturing Company for almost three decades. An avid collector, he enjoyed building models and taking weekly drives to the flea market. He was a cherished “Pop-Pop” and will forever be missed by his family.
