Robert Paul Johnson, 59, of New Haven passed away unexpectedly at home on Oct. 7. Born in Middletown on March 16, 1958, he was the son of Elinore Wren Spencer of Old Saybrook and the late Kenneth R. Johnson.

Bob was a graduate of Westbrook High School class of 1976 and immediately joined the US Air Force, where he served with pride and honor. He was employed at Robinson Aviation at Tweed New Haven Airport for the past 20 years. Bob was an avid NASCAR fan and loved classic rock music. He had a passion for animals, had a kind and generous heart, and he will be greatly missed.

Besides his mother Elinore, he is survived by his three brothers, Jeffrey Johnson of Clinton, Glen Johnson and his wife Patricia of Niantic, and Ron Johnson of Clinton. He is also survived by three nephews, Greg, Kevin, and Hunter.

Family and friends may call on Oct. 12 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton, CT 06413. Burial will be private at State Veterans Cemetery in Middleton.
