East Haven

James Kelly Regan, 53, of East Haven passed away suddenly on Sept. 24. He was born March 11, 1964, to the late Francis and Margaret (Kelly) Regan.

James is survived by his two loving children, James Regan, Jr., and Angela Regan, both of West Haven; along with four siblings, Martin Regan of Wallingford, Loretta Regan of California, Frank Regan (Theresa) of Florida, and Jane Regan of East Haven. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, Amanda (Geoffrey), Katie, April, Emily, Ashley (Bennett), Aaron, Courtney, Evan, Nehemiah, Willow Michelle, Everleigh Lynn, Jamie; and countless lifelong friends at Mansfield Grove and throughout the region.

From the age of 17, James was a member of the Construction and General Laborers Union Local #455. He worked on the construction of many New Haven landmarks, including the Maritime Center, the Q Bridge, Yale University campus, and most recently Fairfield University. Jimmy was a sweet man with a good heart and his family and friends were thrilled by his return to good health over the past two summers, of which he was rightly proud. His sudden death has devastated those he leaves behind especially his children, whom he adored and who were the love of his life. James was a lifelong resident of Mansfield Grove in East Haven. His friends both young and old are still reeling from his loss, especially Billy Charboronneau and his family, the Rosselers, Kathleen Scarlett, the Johnsons, Lance Coughlin, and the Flanagans, Barretts, Uihlein, Tobins, and Towers. Thank you Kelly and Trufans and all the other members he touched in his life. A special thank you to Ann Newhall.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 8 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A graveside service will be held on Oct. 9 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Derby Avenue, West Haven. Please go directly to the cemetery.
