Catherine (Rena) Pierson passed away peacefully in Guilford at home, Sept. 18. She was born in Guilford on May 17, 1919, daughter of Angelo and Rosa Benzi. She was the wife of Russell H. Pierson, Sr., who predeceased her in 2008.

She was the mother of Gail Pierson of Amherst, New Hampshire, Russell Pierson, Jr., and his wife Carolyn of Guilford, and Arthur Pierson of Guilford. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by six brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Pierson worked as a hostess for Chello’s Oyster House and the Stone House Restaurant. Her kindness to family and friends was especially demonstrated by her generous hospitality. She was loved by all.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Sept. 23 at 12 noon in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston Street, Guilford.
