David Gerard Lawless of Ivoryton passed away unexpectedly on May 20, looking forward to the birth of his grandson and happy that his boat was in the water.

He is beloved and will be greatly missed by his family Beatrix E. Lawless, Evie C. Shollar, Maxwell D.S. Shollar, Susan L. Shollar, David S. Lawless, Fredda Lawless, Laddie Lawless, Michael Shollar, Catherine M. Snyder, Anthony O. Snyder, Bennett M. Snyder, and Jane M. Lawless.

He was a life-long sailor and avid student who had a great and true spirit. Slán abhaile.

Relatives and friends joined David’s family June 1 at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook. A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. John Catholic Church, Old Saybrook, on June 2.
