North Guilford

Marge Bishop, 75, of North Guilford passed away Sept. 14 after a brief illness. She was the wife of Galen Bishop for 54 years. She also leaves behind her daughter Jacqueline Bishop (East Haven) and her daughter and son-in-law Jean Marie and Joseph Montesano (Cheshire). Her grandchildren Jenna, James, Nicholas, Michael, and Melissa were the light of her life. She was fondly called “Sis” by her surviving sisters Alberta Romano (Provincetown, Massachusetts) and Linda Fox (North Branford).

She was predeceased by her brother John and sister Elaine. Her parents were Albert and Marie (Cusano) Romano. Marge will also be deeply missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Her top-priority job was being a wife, mother, and Nana. However, she held various other jobs into which she poured her heart and soul. She was a loving in-home day care provider to many children through the years. She also worked at Robert’s Food Center in Madison as a cashier and as their unofficial goodwill ambassador.

All are welcome to attend a memorial service in her honor on Sept. 24 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 11 Park St., Guilford, with a coffee social hour following in the church hall. Memorial contributions may be made to Middlesex Hospital Hospice, Office of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457.
