East Haven and Chester

Andrew J. Campagnuolo (Compo), Sr., 98, of Chester, a former resident of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Aug. 29 at Aaron Manor Nursing Center. Born in New Haven on March 28, 1919, he was the son of the late Felix and Rose (Seneco) Campagnuolo.

Andrew is survived by his son Andrew Jr., daughter Andrea Grazioso, three grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Marcy Campagnuolo; sisters Mary DelGuidice, Louise Gargano, Philomena Rocco, Angelina DeMartino, and Anne Dziamba; and brothers Gennaro, Benjamin, John, Edward, and Fred Campagnuolo.

Andrew was a WWII veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the New England Teamsters and worked for the Cott Beverage Corporation as plant manager. In retirement he enjoyed bowling, horse racing, gardening {especially his tomato plants}, cooking (such as his famous pickled eggplants and mushrooms), and spending time with his beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all he left behind and he will be sadly missed.
