Aaron Wise Smith passed away on Aug. 21 at the age of 33. Aaron was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and at the age of 5 moved to Essex, where he spent the majority of his life.

Aaron graduated from Choate Rosemary Hall and received his B.S. from Wesleyan University. He worked as an editor for the New Haven Register.

Aaron leaves behind his mother Mary Wise Smith of Essex; his father Stephen Robert Smith of Lakeland, Florida; and his beloved brothers Dan, Peter, and Tim.

A memorial service will be held at The First Congregational Church of Essex, 6 Methodist Hill in Essex on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Aaron’s name to a charity of the donor’s choice.
