Branford

Kenneth P. Kaminsky, Sr., of Branford died Sept. 11 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Janet Mortali Kaminsky. Ken was born in New Haven Sept. 20, 1937, son of the late Vincent and Katherine Palaski Kaminsky.

Ken served in the U.S. Navy and was a graduate of Brown University’s School of Banking. He worked for New Haven Savings Bank for 42 years, retiring as COO in 2002. Ken was a member and past commodore of the Branford Yacht Club, a member and past president of the Quinnipiack Club, and a former member of the Branford Board of Finance and the Branford Board of Fire Commissioners. He served on the board of the Hospital of St. Raphael and the board of Clellian in Hamden.

Besides his wife, Ken is survived by his sons Kenneth Jr. (Sonia) of Madison and Joel and Keith of Branford; his grandchildren Julia Kaminsky and Kenneth Kaminsky III of Madison; his brother-in-law John (Laurie) Mortali; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Lehr and brother David Kaminsky.

Friends called Sept. 13 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford. A Mass of Christian burial was held in St. Mary Church Sept. 14. Burial followed in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Branford Community Dining Room, 30 Harrison Ave., Branford, CT 06405.
