East Haven and Branford

Angelina J. Amodio, 95, of Branford, formerly of East Haven, died on Aug. 25 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Salvatore Amodio. She was born in New Haven on Jan. 20, 1922, to the late Dominick and Genevieve Arogoza Scaranuzzo.

She is survived by three daughters, Patricia Infante of New Haven, Laura (Ron) SanGiovanni of Wallingford, and Jeanne (Dominick) SanGiovanni of North Haven; a son, Robert Amodio of West Haven; a sister, Gloria Ratinere of West Haven; as well as many grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by a son, Frank Amodio; three brothers, Thomas, Charles, and John Scaranuzzo; and two sisters, Antoinette Migliaro and Josephine Jarvis.

Angelina’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the medical staff at Branford Hills Nursing Home, as well as all the staff at Yale-New Haven Hospital 4th floor East Pavilion for their kindness and compassion.

Calling hours were held on Aug. 29 at the East Haven Memorial Longobard–Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708. Burial services were private.
