East Haven

Dorothy Anne LaBonte Glenn, better known as Dottie, Nana, or T-Dot, died peacefully at Yale-New Haven Hospital Aug 5. She was 85 years young. She worked her whole life in the food service industry at the New Haven Lawn Club, Echlin’s, and Talmadge Park.

A lifelong resident of East Haven, she was predeceased by her dad Adolphus LaBonte, mom Janet Wennell LaBonte, four brothers, three sisters, and a daughter, Karen Fork. She leaves behind a daughter, Janet (Peter) Cianelli, and a son, Joseph Glenn.

She enjoyed playing cards with her lady friends, traveling on Senior Trips (where she was nicknamed Happy Feet), and going to the casino. Most of all she enjoyed being called Nana by her nine grandchildren, Kim Coppola, Julie (Pat) Cestaro, Karen (Richard) Dennis, Kevin (Becky) Glenn, Colby (Craig) O’Rourke, Joseph Glenn, Wendy (Brian) Kuerbitz, Amanda Fork, and Michael (Jamie) Fork; and having tea parties with her 29 great-grandchildren, especially Alexis, Mercedes, Peter, Pat, Sophia, David, Brad, Brooke, Blake, Kailee, Nick, and Ashlyn. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, especially Cathy Clark, Dena Bower, and Janet Kowalski.

A celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at later date. Donations in her name can be made to Christ & Epiphany Church, 39 Park Pl., East Haven, CT 06512.
