Peter Oboyski, 82, lifelong resident of Guilford, passed away peacefully on Aug. 11. Peter was born in New Haven on Dec. 22, 1934, to Irene and Peter Oboyski, Sr.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia Flynn Oboyski and by his sister Irene Bickford. He leaves behind his daughter Paula (Doug) Downer of Guilford, Michael Oboyski of Clinton, John (Janette) Oboyski of Guilford, and Peter Oboyski of California. He also leaves his sister Natalie Shekosky of Middletown; his brother Richard Oboyski of Virginia; and his grandchildren Adam, Steven, Colin, Darby, Aedan, Shannon, Daniel, and Hannah.

He was a graduate of Guilford High School class of 1952 and captain of the baseball and basketball team. He played minor league baseball for the Paris Orioles and was a founding member of the Guilford Youth Football program. He worked 35 years for SNET. Peter enjoyed time with his family and loved his hometown of Guilford.

Friends were invited to visitation on Aug. 16 at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, followed by a service at the funeral home.
