Old Saybrook

Anna Ianniello, 77, passed away Aug. 13 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Manhattan, New York, on Sept. 30, 1939. She was the widow of Robert Ianniello. Anna met and married her husband Robert in Brooklyn and started a family before moving to Old Saybrook in 1964.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, feeding and watching the birds, as well as tending to her house plants, and if it was 2:00 p.m., watching General Hospital.

Anna is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Burr, Trish Ianniello, and Janet Morrison; her sister Diane Beecher; her grandchildren Michael and Steven; her great-grandchildren Alex and Katie; and her cat Papa Bear.

Thanks to the staff in the CCU at Middlesex Hospital, special thanks to the nursing staff of the Middlesex Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care, and great appreciation and thanks to the special people who cared for Anna at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell. She thought of everyone as dear friends and family. An extra special thank you to her favorite nurse Stephanie and CNA Madeline.

Calling hours were held on Aug. 17 at Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd., Old Saybrook. A funeral service was held at the funeral home and burial followed at Riverside Cemetery, Old Saybrook.
