Wayne F. Orsie of Old Saybrook passed away peacefully on Aug. 3. Born in New Britain on May 3, 1934, he was the son of Frank Orsie and Agnes (McLaughlin) Orsie.

He had a long career as a stockbroker in both Middletown and New Haven. He graduated from Bowdoin College, served in the U.S. Army, and was a former member of the Old Saybrook Republican Town Committee. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed playing for many local teams. He was always seen wearing his New York Yankee baseball cap.

He leaves his wife Sandy of Old Saybrook; and his daughter and son-in-law Karen and Will McCarthy, and his pride and joy, twin grandsons, Anthony and Michael McCarthy of San Francisco, California.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John’s R.C. Church in Old Saybrook on Aug. 17 at 11 a.m. Contributions in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Hospice Program at Middlesex Hospital, c/o Department of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St., Middletown, CT 06457. Burial will be private.
