Ivoryton and Haddam

Alma G. Weaver, 95, of Ivoryton and Haddam passed away peacefully on Aug. 3. She was the devoted wife of the late Walter Weaver. Alma was also predeceased by her brother Joseph Guidi and her loving son Michael Weaver.

Alma spent most of her years working in the office at Pratt Read, retired, and then worked for Sam and Janet at Riggio’s Garden Center. One of Alma’s greatest legacies was her delicious cooking. She loved to cook for people. Her coffee cakes, apple pies, and homemade pasta will go down in infamy. She was very kind and loving and always put others before herself.

Alma is survived by her sister Rose Weaver of Lyme; her daughter Nancy Ray and her husband Peter of Haddam; her son Robert Weaver and his wife Barbara of East Haddam; a daughter-in-law, Susan Weaver of East Haddam; six grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Nicole, Matt, Ashley, and Joseph Weaver; and a step-granddaughter, Erin Ray. She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Our family wishes to extend a huge heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and staff at the Chestelm Rehabilitation Center in Moodus. They provided such wonderful care and she loved all her caregivers.

A graveside service for Alma was held on Aug. 8 at Duck River Cemetery, Old Lyme. To share a memory of Alma, please visit www.rwwfh.com. Arrangements by Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, Centerbrook.
