J. Robert Finch

J. Robert Finch, 61, of Old Saybrook passed away on Aug. 6 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born on June 29, 1956, in White Plains, New York, to Mary (Guinane) and George Finch.

He graduated from Old Saybrook High School in 1974, and the UConn School of Pharmacy in 1979. He worked as a pharmacist for almost 40 years and owned/operated Old Lyme Pharmacy for nearly 30 years. He was actively involved in local politics and served the Town of Old Saybrook as a selectman, on the board of finance, and as a police commissioner. He enjoyed snowmobiling, boating, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. He was devoted to his family, friends, customers, and the community; he will be sorely missed.

Bob is survived by his wife Patricia; children Megan, Christine, Sarah, and Matthew; his siblings Mary Beth Finch, John J. Finch, Kate Marshall, and Peggy Coburn; his loyal dogs Bella and Baby; and many extended family members and friends.

A funeral Mass will be held on Aug. 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint John Church, 161 Main St., in Old Saybrook.
