Deep River

Paul T. Pulcini, 82, of Deep River died on Aug. 7 at Middlesex Hospital after a long illness, surrounded by his family. He was the devoted husband for 56 years of Theresa (Shembo) Pulcini. Paul was born in Deep River, son of the late Dominic P. and Mary (Piampino) Pulcini.

He graduated from Valley Regional High School and served our country with the U.S. Army, 2nd Battalion, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment stationed in Germany. Paul went on to work as a pressman for UARCO in Deep River, retiring after 36 years. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s Church. He loved to garden and to watch UConn girls’ basketball. Most of all he loved his “Weekly Sunday School” at his sister Mary’s house and having “Life” discussions with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his children Mary P. (husband Paul) Narducci of Deep River and Thomas P. Pulcini of Westbrook; grandchildren Nikki and Nathan Narducci, and Ryan and Jake Pulcini; and his sisters Mary Stevens and Josephine O’Shea, both of Deep River. Paul was predeceased by his brother Dominic Pulcini II.

Visitation will be held at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook, on Aug. 12 from 11 to 12:30 p.m. A prayer service will follow at the funeral home.
