Joseph M. Rice entered into eternal rest on July 30. He was born Sept. 15, 1950, in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, and grew up in West Long Branch, New Jersey. He lived in Madison for the past 32 years. Joe was the son of the late Joseph and Eve Rice.

Joe worked for Bradco Supply Corp. for many years. He loved watching football, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed old rock and roll music. He was a gentle soul and liked nothing better than playing with his granddaughter.

Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha; his daughters Stephanie, Lindsay, and Jaimie Rice and her fiancé Fredy Verdugo; his granddaughters Kaela Rice and Evelynn Verdugo; and his sister Catherine Buckley and her husband Dennis Buckley.

Friends are invited to visitation on Aug. 5 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, followed by a graveside service in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston St., Guilford.
