North Branford

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Biehl, 90, of North Branford passed away on July 4 at Connecticut Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the beloved wife of Louis Biehl. Elizabeth was born in West Haven on Sept. 26, 1926, to the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Downey) Lamb.

Besides her husband of 70 years, she is survived by her five children, Linda (Joseph) Barlow of Old Saybrook; Edward (Phyllis) Biehl of Branford; Diane B. (Stephen) Whalen of North Branford; Susan B. Henne of North Stonington; and John (Marilynn) Biehl of Wallingford. She is survived by sisters Margaret Finer, Dorothy Arnold, and Elsie Miller; and brothers George, Robert, and Leonard Lamb. She also had many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition she is survived by ten grandchildren, Michael, Daniel, James, Ashley, Timothy, David, Amanda, Kevin, Christopher, and Marissa; as well as four great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was predeceased by her brothers Clarence and Walter Lamb; sister Pauline Cantley; and son-in-law Donald Henne.

Elizabeth lived in North Branford for more than 67 years, and worked as a bookkeeper for many years at National Fulfillment. She loved to travel and camp in the Adirondacks. Elizabeth loved to read, go shopping, cook, and spend time with her family; she enjoyed family gatherings. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Augustine Church.

Family and friends visited July 7 at the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd., North Branford. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated July 8 at St. Augustine Church in North Branford, followed by burial at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
