Donna A. Sandella Nuzzo, 65, of East Haven, beloved wife of David L. Nuzzo, Sr., passed away on July 23 in Connecticut Hospice. Donna was born in New Haven on May 9, 1952, daughter of the late Albert and Mary Franco Sandella, Sr.

At the time of her death, Donna was a receptionist for Pennache of Branford and prior to that was a supervisor for the Credit Bureau of Connecticut from 1984 through 2008. Donna loved to sing karaoke songs and do arts and crafts with her grandchildren.

She was the loving mother of Gina (Robert) Proto of North Haven and George (Lisa) Carranzo of East Haven; the grandmother of Alexa and Marisa Carranzo; and the sister of Mary Ellen (Frank) Marciano of Wallingford, Albert (Cheryl) Sandella, Jr., of Arizona, and Arthur (Laura) Sandella of East Haven.

Her funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, July 27. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery. Friends called July 26. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
