Branford and Guilford

David Richard Lagueux, Sr., previously of Branford, passed away peacefully on Feb. 26 surrounded by his family. David was born on Jan. 29, 1943, in New Haven to the late Joseph O. and Marieange A. Lagueux.

The youngest of three children, David is survived by loving sisters Gladys Lagueux and Mary Jane VanSlyke of Gloversville, New York. David was a devoted and loving father to three children, Debra Benton of Branford; David Lagueux, Jr., and his wife Susan (Conti) of Salisbury, Maryland, and Darcy (Lagueux) and her husband Nathaniel Neville of Tennessee. David was affectionately known as “Pop” to grandchildren David and Charlie Lagueux, Rachel and Olivia Benton, and Robert Vitello. David also leaves behind several loving nieces and nephews.

David was an avid lover of cars, especially early model Volkswagen Beetles, and could fix or make anything. He was a wonderful father and “Pop” and is missed beyond words.

Friends are invited to calling hours on July 29 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, followed by Burial Services at 11 a.m. in St. Agnes Cemetery, 285 East Main St., Branford.
