Northford

Renee Hyson, 51, of Northford passed away unexpectedly at home on June 19. She was born Oct. 20, 1965, in Germany to Ralph Albanese and the late Rosalie (Onofrio) Albanese.

Renee is survived by her father; loving husband Sean Hyson of North Branford; sons Michael Martone, Jr. (Jennifer) of Branford, Joseph Martone (Kimberly) of North Branford, Nico Martone of North Branford; stepdaughter Airyana Mickolowski of East Haven; along with a granddaughter, Rosalie Martone. Renee is also survived by her four siblings, Rhonda Rodriguez (Angel) of New Haven, Ralph Albanese (Nicole) of Durham, Rosemarie Albanese (Jose Rosa) of New Haven, and Regina Albanese (Tyson Kaczmarek) of Milford; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Renee was a bright soul who never required anything from those around her. She loved to be around people, especially her family. She loved to be on the back of a Harley Davidson and always finished what she started. She was persistent, diligent, and the cleanliest person you could ever know. You could always find her in the kitchen, whether it was cooking, baking, or wiping down the counters. She enjoyed volleyball, softball, the Boston Red Sox, and New Orleans Saints.

Every Sunday for years she would gather her sons (including those she just called her sons), their friends, girlfriends, and kids, for an amazing homemade dinner and kept our family close. She was an accomplished chef; her cooking and generosity brought entire communities together. More recently, Renee adored spending time with her four-month-old granddaughter Rosalie, who will miss her dearly. She loved to cuddle with Copper (Fat Boy) and Narlz (baby doggie).

She was tough, independent, and fierce, but also had a warming smile and caring demeanor. She was your quintessential “Football Mom,” who was at every practice, every game, and always involved in helping the team in any way she could. She was a loving wife who always took care of her husband, and lived and breathed for her three sons.

This loss leaves a gaping hole in the hearts of her loved ones. Renee was a strong-willed woman and the matriarch of our family; she loved deeply. We will miss our mom, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, and wife more than words can truly describe, but we will stay strong and together, as she would have wanted. We all love you and will miss you forever. Rest in Peace.

The family received friends June 24 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private. A Celebration of Life and reception will be held on Saturday, July 1 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Guilford Sportsmen’s Association, Hart Road, Guilford.
