Billy Barou Rubendunst, 32, of Clinton, died June 15 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Billy was born in Guilford on Jan. 2, 1985, to loving parents Linda Ann (Spadacenta–Valley) Ricks of Clinton and Bruce Max Rubendunst of North Guilford.

Billy is survived by his sister Heather Valley and brother Reginald Valley, Jr., of Vermont; step-siblings Benjamin, Daniel, and Timothy Ricks of Alabama, Jonathan Ricks of Colorado, and Lillian Valley of Vermont; and stepfather Patrick Ricks of Clinton. Billy also leaves behind his deeply adored maternal grandfather, Anthony Spadacenta of Clinton; his maternal grandmother MaryJean Messina of Arizona; and his step-grandparents Richard and Jean Ricks of Alabama. He is also survived by his aunts, Kristie, Robin, and Kathe Rubendunst, Toni and Jo-ann Spadacenta, and Michelle Valley; his uncles Paul, Robert, and Peter Spadacenta, and Timothy (T.J.), Edward, and Thomas Valley; many cousins; Reginald Valley, Sr.; and his lifelong best friend Daniel Johnson (East Haven) and friend Louis Criscio (Uncle Lou) of Branford.

Billy is predeceased by his paternal grandparents whom he loved dearly, Robert Max and Joyce Tait Rubendunst; his aunt Tracy (Rubendunst) Neal; and his girlfriend of ten years whom he “needed in order to breathe,” Kimberly Ann-Sadie Jennings.

Billy was born in Connecticut and attended Guilford High School. He was a carpenter with an entrepreneurial spirit. He was funny, smart, and owned a room when he walked into it with his smile and charismatic personality. He was fiercely loyal and protective of his family and friends. Billy loved to fish, bike, build model cars, hike, explore nature, and build and rebuild trucks for four-wheeling. He also loved wood working. Most of all, though, what Billy loved was being with and loved by his family.

The funeral will be held on June 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the North Guilford Congregational Church, 159 Ledge Hill Rd., followed by burial at Middlefield Cemetery.
