Westbrook

Arlene M. Palm, 73, of Westbrook died June 5. She was born Aug. 25, 1943. Arlene was married to Albert M. Palm for 54 years. He was her best friend, partner, and adoring husband.

She was a wonderful mother to Darlene Spencer, Dorothy Sheridan, and Karin Coburn. She was loved very much by her granddaughter Melissa Hayes; grandson James Hayes; and grandsons Robert, Jimmy, and Steven Spencer. She was loved dearly by her great-granddaughter Paige Spencer and great-grandson Brennan Lunin. Arlene was predeceased by her son Ray Palm.

Her adoring sister Linda Sornberger and brother-in-law Larry Sornberger meant the world to Arlene. She had four nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her nephew Grady Bard.

Arlene had an endless number of relatives, including many additional nieces and nephews whom she cared deeply about. She loved and was loved by two special grandnephews, Jack and Steven. Her two “like daughters” Carrie and Julie were very special to her. She also had a special relationship with Karen Ward Hathaway; they were close friends for more than 70 years.

A “Celebration of Life” will be held June 17 at the Westbrook Fire House from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
