Branford

Stanley W. MacLachlan, 62, of Branford passed away June 6 at Connecticut Hospice after a long illness. He leaves behind his wife Carol (Gambardella) MacLachlan, his daughter Lisa MacLachlan, and his mother Mary Olsyzk MacLachlan. He was predeceased by his father William MacLachlan and his brother Michael MacLachlan.

Stanley was born in New Haven on Oct. 30, 1954. He graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1972, where he was a scholar athlete who held several basketball records, including all district in 1971 and 1972. He was inducted into the New Haven Tap-Off Hall of Fame in 2002, and was recently inducted into the Knights of Honor in 2016. He continued his basketball career at UNH, and then at SCSU. His first job after graduating was manager at Archie Moore’s in New Haven. He then worked for the city of New Haven, followed by SNET/SBC/AT&T. He later attended Quinnipiac Law School while working full time and was a member of its first graduating class. He was a licensed attorney and American Bar Association member. Stan loved to play golf and was a member of the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club.

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial was held on June 14 at St. Therese Church in Branford. Immediately following Mass, a memorial visitation was held at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford. There was a reception immediately following the visitation at the Pine Orchard Yacht and Country Club, 2 Club Pkwy., Branford.
