Donald E. Ross, Sr., 83, of East Haven passed away June 5 in Connecticut Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Margaret “Tootsie” Onofrio Ross; and the loving father of Donald E. (Sue) Ross, Jr., of Elm Grove, Wisconsin, John W. (Andrea) Ross of East Haven, and Tara L. (Kenneth) Alba of West Haven. He was the cherished grandfather of Michael Binkowski, and Tyler, Mara, and Dana Ross. He was the son of the late Pearl and Bernice Williams Ross. He was the brother of Patricia Johnson of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and the late Noreen Savo and Roger Ross. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Prior to his retirement Don was the director of building and grounds for the East Haven Board of Education for 26 years. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian burial June 10 at 9:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Interment with military honors will follow in East Lawn Cemetery.
