North Haven

Virginia Marciano DeLucia, 87, of North Haven passed away peacefully on June 7 at the Whitney Manor, Hamden, with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore DeLucia. Virginia was born in Formia, Province of Latina, Italy, on May 13, 1930, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Giuseppina Pruno Marciano.

She worked for the former Strauss-Adler, New Haven, for many years until her retirement in 1990.

She was the mother of Alfonso (Ingrid) DeLucia, Giuseppe (Alberta) DeLucia, Giovanna Romano, Anthony (Nikki) DeLucia, and Orsula (Daniel) Rakiec. She was the sister of Elena, Antonietta, and Giovanna Marciano, and the late Emilio, Benito, and Nella Marciano. She was the sister-in-law of Vincent (Maria) DeLucia. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Nicola Romano and her grandson Salvatore Romano.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., June 12 at 11:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Frances Cabrini Church at 12 noon. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
