Old Saybrook

Robert C. “Big Bob” Crimm, 66, of Old Saybrook passed away on April 14 at the Middlesex Medical Center, Shoreline, in Westbrook. Bob was the beloved husband of Denise (Lavallee) Crimm. They were married in West Hartford on July 25, 1970. Bob was born in Bristol on Jan. 28, 1951, the son of Jeanette (LeBelle) Valley of Southington, and the late Charles Alvin Crimm.

He was raised in Bristol and was a graduate of Avon High School. Bob was a proud veteran of the US Airforce, serving during the Vietnam War. He was a mechanical engineer who specialized in the repair of computer numerical control machines. His specialized work took him to many companies throughout North America. Bob retired in 2013 after a 50-year career in machine repair. He was a true craftsman and mechanic, one blessed with many skills and talents. Bob was an avid cook and a passionate barbeque master. He will always be remembered as being a positive person and a loving husband and father.

Besides his beloved wife Denise and his mother Jeanette, he leaves his son Robert Crimm of Palmer, Massachusetts, his daughter Darlene Crimm of Ivoryton, and his sister Shirley Crimm of Southington.

A memorial gathering will be privately held by his family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to the Old Saybrook Fire Company #1, 310 Main St., Old Saybrook, CT 06475, Attn: Ed Yeager, Treasurer.
