John H. Moore, Jr., “Buster,” died April 18 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a five-year battle with cancer. Buster was born July 8, 1954, in New Haven, a son of the late John H. and Bernadette Cusano Moore.

He received his bachelor’s degree in construction management from CCSU. Buster worked as a construction manager for Fucci Construction, retiring in September 2016. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Yankees, New York Giants, and UConn women’s basketball.

His family would like to thank the staffs at Smilow MICU 9 and Connecticut Hospice for the care provided to Buster during his final illness.

Buster is survived by his brothers Raymond L. (Donna) Moore of Higganum and Walter B. (Karen) Moore of Durham; his sisters Pamela E. Monahan of Athens, Georgia, and Rosalyn D. “Lynn” Pennington of Yoncalla, Oregon; and several nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his dear friend Pamela Bartiet of Hamden.

Visiting hours were held April 21 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford. The funeral service and burial will be private.
