Branford

Arnold W. Shaw of Branford died April 24 at the Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven. Arnold was born Oct. 26, 1947, in New Haven, son of the late Wilfrid A. and Ruth Gilbride Shaw.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was a mechanical engraver, and was the owner of the Cooney Engraving Company in Branford. He was a member of A.F. & A.M. Corinthian Lodge in North Haven.

Arnold is the beloved father of David (Melanie) Shaw of East Hampton and the devoted grandfather of Alyssa and Ashley Shaw. He is also survived by his brother Bruce Shaw of Branford; his former wives Tina Shaw of Branford, and Dr. Cheryl Tromley; and his longtime girlfriend Jane Barry. He was predeceased by his brother Carlton P. Shaw.
