Robert Frederick Langer, 85, of Clinton died on April 12. He was born on April 18, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of August and Matilda (Karg) Langer.

Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sonja Graves Langer; they were married on Nov. 15, 1958. After high school Robert attended the Paier School of Art, and was an animal portrait artist. In addition to his art work, he was employed for more than 30 years at Blu-Ray in Essex. He was a member of The First Church of Christ Congregational in Clinton, and the Clinton and Madison Art Societies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Susan M. Langer of Clinton; his son Robert E. Langer and his wife Debra DeToro of Killingworth; grandsons Neil P. Harris of Trumbull, and Matthew A. Harris of Springfield, Massachusetts; and sister-in-law Shirley Goodspeed of Old Saybrook. He was predeceased by his brothers John and Richard Langer.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 6 at 11 a.m. in The First Church of Christ Congregational, Clinton.
