North Haven and West Haven

Trifomina (Triffy) Lombardi-Mascia, 80, formerly of North Haven, was called home by our Lord on April 11. She was the beloved wife of the late Samuel (Jr.) Mascia, Jr. Triffy was born in New Haven on Aug. 20, 1936, daughter of the late Frank “Sonny” and Margaret Gargano Lombardi.

She worked as a banquet manager at the former Ramada Inn of North Haven, where she spent many days and nights working with dear family and friends. Triffy also worked as a CNA for Montowese Healthcare, North Haven, and private duty at the Whitney Center of Hamden. The love that she had for her patients was undying. Our mother devoted herself to everyone who surrounded and needed her. She gave and had more than enough love to share with her family and the friends she so loved. Triffy will always be remembered for her ability to always show kindness and appreciation. Her magnetic personality drew you to her, for she was an honest and genuine person, mother, and friend. She retired early to care for her ailing husband Junior, who passed away in 2002. Her only fault was that she never worried about not having enough time for herself.

Triffy is survived by her beloved children Clifford and spouse (Dietrich Lipp) Mascia; daughters Gina (Patrick) Butler, Margaret (Lorren) Bissell, and Kimberly (Dana) Boughton; her grandchildren (who were the apples of her eye), granddaughters Kristina and Melissa Butler, Samantha Bissell, Alex Bissell, and Dominic Boughton; and a great-grandson, David Rioux. Besides her children and grandchildren, Triffy leaves behind a sister, Marie (Joseph) Benson, and her twin brother Rocco (Diane) Lombardi, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Frank and Dominic Lombardi. Mom, your suffering is no longer; please keep a watchful eye out for us, for we will all be together once more in the kingdom of our Lord, your loving family.

Her funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., April 18. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Barnabas Church, followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery. The visiting hours were April 17. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 200 Executive Blvd. Ste. 4B, Southington, CT 06489.
