North Haven

Joseph J. Fusaris, Jr., 90, of North Haven, formerly a Guilford resident for more than 35 years, passed away on April 10 at the Artis Assisted Living, Branford. He was the beloved husband of more than 65 years to Helen Moleske Fusaris. Joseph was born in New Haven on May 30, 1926, son of the late Joseph and Anna Forte Fusaris, Sr.

He served his country faithfully in the US Army infantry during WWII; worked as a master mechanic for Mosler Safe Company for 20 years; was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Guilford for more than 30 years; and was a eucharistic minister in St. George’s Church, Guilford, as well as a parishioner for 36 years.

He was the brother of Orlando P. “Midge” Fusaris, and the late Charles and O’Neil Fusaris, Clementine Holovach, and Madelyn Barile.

His funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., April 17 at 10:45 a.m. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Barnabas Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow with full military honors in All Saints Cemetery.
