Branford

Anthony R. Coppola, 92, of Branford passed away peacefully on April 11 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Anthony was born in New Haven on March 29, 1925, son of the late Anthony and Catherine DeRienzo Coppola.

He served his country faithfully in the US Navy during WWII, and worked for the US Postal Service for 33 years until retiring as a clerk.

He was the uncle of Caroline (Jeffrey) O’Brien, William (Louise) Coppola, and Catherine, Anthony, and Stephen Coppola. He is also survived by the light of his life, his great-niece Michelle Willard and her daughter, his great-great-niece Ava Marie, who visited him frequently; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings Joseph, Nicholas, Armand, and William Coppola, and Caroline Civitello, Anna DeBiase, and Adeline Santore.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Michael’s Church, 29 Wooster Pl., New Haven, on April 17 at 10:00 a.m. to attend a Mass of Christian burial, and are also invited to attend the committal service immediately following with full military honors in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, Inc., 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06450.
