Branford

Robert A. Raymond, 91, of Branford, passed away peacefully on April 10 at the St. Raphael campus/Yale-New Haven. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Jeannine Boilard Raymond. Robert was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on Dec. 29, 1925, son of the late Emile and Emma Dube Raymond.

He received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Providence College and served his country faithfully in the US Army during WWII. Robert worked for the Southern Connecticut Gas Company for 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed watching UConn basketball, domestic and international traveling, collecting coins, and singing tenor in many churches.

He was the loving father of Lynne (Webster) Smith, Paul (Lisa) Raymond, and Gail (Steven) Dadio. He was the loving grandfather of Ryan and Taylor Smith, Jamie, Morgan, and Jack Raymond, Austin and Casey Dadio, and Daniel Garfield. He was the beloved brother of Lorraine Gambino, Theresa Dini, and the late Dorothy Tacinelli, Alphonse Raymond, Gertrude Cardone, and Claudette Hunt. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Mary Church, 731 Main St., Branford, on April 18 at 10:00 a.m. to attend a Mass of Christian burial, and are also invited to attend the committal services immediately following in St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford, with military honors. The visiting hours will be April 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Poor, 1365 Enfield St., Enfield, CT 06082.
