Branford

Marilyn Erickson Moore Osborne, beloved wife of Donald Osborne of Branford, died March 18 in Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her first husband Robert I. Moore. Marilyn was born in New Haven April 3, 1932, daughter of the late Eric and Gwendolyn Opie Erickson.

She grew up in Stony Creek and was a graduate of the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a registered nurse for many years at Hartford Hospital, the VA Medical Center in West Haven, and finally as a school nurse at Carmen Arace Middle School in Bloomfield, where she lived for many years. Her many hobbies included gardening, sewing, and doing crafts with the Stony Creek craft ladies at the Church of Christ Congregational. She was very devoted to her family and enjoyed her time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters Lynda (Scott) Moore of Manchester, Sheryl (Tim) Ruark of West Simsbury, and Kathleen (Peter) DaDalt of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania; and her grandchildren Rachel (Luke) Hahn, Esther Moore, Kaitlyn and Sean Ruark, and Alyssa and Benjamin DeDalt. She was predeceased by her grandson Jonathan R. DaDalt. She is also survived by her stepchildren Priscilla (Donald) Grunewald of Nipomo, California, Mark L. Osborne (Gretchen) of Ellsworth, Maine, Elizabeth (Alan) Lawson of Sunderland, England, and Thomas (Sabrina) Osborne of Brewer, Maine, and their families.

Visiting hours will be March 22 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford. A funeral service will be held March 23 at 11:00 a.m. in the Church of Christ Congregational, 192 Thimble Island Rd., Stony Creek. Burial will follow in Stony Creek Cemetery.
