Clinton, Waterbury, and Westbrook

Robert T. Rose, Sr., of Westbrook, formerly of Clinton and Waterbury, passed away March 10 at Middlesex Hospital, Middletown, surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Eleanor L. Guilfoile Rose. Robert was born June 20, 1936, in Waterbury, son of the late John H. Rose and Elsie Nordstrom Rose.

He was the loving father of Robert T. Rose, Jr., and his wife Maryann of Clinton; Stephen Rose and his wife Katherine of Colchester; and Melissa Ehlert and her husband Chris of Westbrook. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Rose of Branford and nephew Jared Rose of Clinton.

Before retiring, Mr. Rose owned and operated New England Rack Company in Branford for 35 years. Bob and Eleanor spent many years traveling in their motor home up and down the East Coast, but always knew that Boothbay Harbor, Maine, was their most favorite spot of all. Bob enjoyed many years boating and fishing, leaving right from his dock in his back yard. In his later years, he was a true hobbyist. His favorite was model trains, and he was still building a train set right up to the end of his life.
