John “Jack” Francis Scherber, 52, of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 8 at Smilow Cancer Center of New Haven, surrounded by his loving family.

Jack is survived by his wife Kristen L. Scherber, daughter Katelyn M. Scherber, and son Derek J. Scherber of Woodbridge, Virginia. He is also survived by his father Frank J. Scherber of Grasonville, Maryland, and was predeceased by his mother Shirley A. (MacKenzie) Scherber in 2008. In addition he is survived by his sisters Deborah A. (Scott) Lyman of Clinton; Terry L. (Tod) Goodman and Laurie J. Jaindl of Centreville, Maryland; and Gay M. (Tom) Scanlon of Killingworth. He was predeceased by his twin sister Jill E. Boswell (Peter ‘Bo’) of Madison in 2016.

He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He found happiness and pride in raising his children.

Jack was a graduate of Daniel Hand High School, Madison, Class of 1983. He was an avid Yankee fan and had an endless love for fishing. Jack’s laughter will be missed and he will stay in our hearts forever.
