East Haven and Shelton

Salvatore A. Esposito, 85, of Shelton, formerly of East Haven, died on Feb. 15 at the VA Medical Center of West Haven. He was the husband of the late Leonarda “Lee” Karpowicz Esposito. He was born in New Haven on April 16, 1931, to the late John and Ann Proto Esposito.

He worked as a printer at City Printing from 1954 to 1984, and then for Harty Press from 1984 until finally retiring in 1997. He was a proud veteran of the US Army, serving his country during the Korean War. Sal was also a Knight of Columbus, Father Regan Council #3300, as well as an avid UConn Husky basketball fan.

He is survived by his son Michael (Tammy) Esposito of Shelton; a brother, Alphonse “Buddy” (Florence “Flo”) Esposito of New Haven; and three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Danielle, and Michael Esposito, Jr.

The funeral left the East Haven Memorial Longobardi—Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, Feb. 20 for a Funeral Mass in St. Vincent de Paul Church. Friends called Feb. 19. Burial was in East Lawn Cemetery.
