Killingworth

Evelyn Budney Sokolowski, 92, passed away at Branford Hospice Feb. 12 with her daughter Trudy holding her hand. She was born June 9, 1924, to Lillian and Louis Budney.

She leaves her daughter Trudy Sokolowski-Holliday of Killingworth; grandsons Aaron Holliday of Salem and Eric Holliday, US Army, of Lyme; and great-grandson Cooper Axel Holliday of Lyme. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Stephen Sokolowski, as well as her brothers Robert Budney, Sr., and Louis Budney. She also leaves nieces and nephews Trudy and Don Watson, Cynthia and Chester Perry, Dana and Pauline Budney, Robert and Teresa Budney, Bud Budney, and Leonard Budney.

She retired from the US Postal Service, where she worked 23 years. She also worked at Uarco for 11 years and Pratt Read. She loved cats roller skated very well.

In lieu of flowers her wish was for donations in her memory to Forgotten Felines, the Essex Dog Pound, the VFW Post in Centerbrook, Essex Ambulance, Killingworth Ambulance, ASPCA, PETA, the Connecticut Humane Society, or Branford Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford.

The joys of her life were her grandsons.
