Robert F. Keeney, 80, of East Haven, beloved husband of Joan Bosco Keeney, passed away on March 8 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was born in West Haven on Feb. 9, 1937, son of the late Edward and Marion Heery Keeney.

Prior to his retirement Robert was the building inspector for the City of Milford and the City of New Haven. He was also a Navy veteran.

He was the loving father of Helen (Charles F.) Morro, Sr., of Madison, Matthew (Helena) Keeney of Branford, and Karen Keeney of East Haven. He was the grandfather of Charles F. Jr. and Jacob, Michael, and Zachary Morro. He was the brother of Marian Ashman of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and the late Eileen Steinke, Barbara Serphillips, and Edward and Jack Keeney.

His funeral procession will leave the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, March 18 at 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Friends may call March 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Military Honors will be conducted immediately following the Mass of Christian burial.
