Westbrook

Elizabeth “Liz” Wallace, 94, of Westbrook passed away peacefully on March 13. Born on Aug. 1, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late Frederick and Wilhelmina Hecht, she lived in Connecticut since 1950 and resided in Westbrook for the past 20 years.

Liz worked as a floral designer for most of her life, beginning in Pennsylvania and continuing for many years in Connecticut. During her retirement years, Liz was very active at the Estuary Council for Seniors in Old Saybrook and the Westbrook Senior Center, where she loved to play cards and socialize with friends. Liz was also an active member of the First Church of Christ in Clinton.

Liz is survived by her three sons, David Clegg and his wife Lani of San Diego, California; Randall Clegg and his wife Cynthia of Essex; and Robert Clegg of Madison. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Matthew and Chelsea Clegg of San Diego, and Robert’s daughters Lindsey and Carly Clegg.

Visitation will be held on March 19 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Robinson, Wright, & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Centerbrook. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Liz’s name to the Community Foundation of Middlesex County, Inc., 49 Main St., Middletown, CT 06457.
