Barbara A. Donlan Giannelli, 77, of East Haven passed away peacefully on March 5 at Yale-New Haven Hospital with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of 36 years to Andrew Giannelli. Barbara was born in New Haven on Dec. 7, 1939, daughter of the late William and Dorothy Weiss Donlan.

She worked as a medical secretary for St. Raphael’s Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of the Republican party in East Haven for about 35 years.

She was the mother of Debbie Dattilo; stepmother of Andrew Giannelli and the late Louis Giannelli; grandmother of Connor Dattilo; and sister of Dorothy Manley and the late William Donlan.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., March 10 at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends may call from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in East Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2nd Floor, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
