Cynthia Saunders Maldonado, 53, of East Haven, formerly of West Haven, beloved wife of Albert Maldonado, Jr., passed away on Feb. 8 at her home.

She was the loving mother of Tina Puccio (Tym) Adamczyk and Shaylene Maldonado, all of East Haven; and stepmother of Lauren and Alex Maldonado, both of East Haven. She was the grandmother of Nikodem Adamczyk; and the sister of Karen Buonocore and Steve (Susan) Saunders, all of West Haven, Allan (Leslie) Saunders of Clinton, and the late Lynda Diaz. Cynthia was born in New Haven on Dec. 3, 1963, daughter of the late Albert and Carmella Donarumo Saunders. She is also survived by one niece and several nephews. Cynthia was very proud of her Mohegan heritage.

Her funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven, Feb. 14. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. John Vianney Church. Interment was private. Friends called Feb. 13. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
