Madison

William John Zambarano, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Madison on Feb. 8. He was the beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” Zambarano. He was born in New Rochelle, New York, on April 18, 1944, the son of late Arthur and Eleanor Zambarano.

He resided in Madison since 1976. Bill, a naval aviation veteran, served his country during the Cuban missile crisis and in Southeast Asia. As well as having a long career in the technology services industry, Bill was a serial entrepreneur who did many things from owning and operating the Goodspeed Airport and Seaplane base in East Haddam, to owning and operating FAS, a data processing services company in North Madison.

He was most proud of his family. He was the proud father of Matthew Zambarano of Jericho, Vermont, his daughter Marybeth Hansen of Jackson, Wyoming, his daughter Maura Richards of Old Saybrook, and Michael Zambarano of Bozeman, Montana. He is also survived by his daughters-in-law Laura Zambarano and Katie Zambarano, and his son-in-law Cody Hansen, as well as the lights of his life, his five grandchildren, Mark Zambarano, Emily Zambarano, Weston Richards, Greyson Richards, and Eleanor Maxine Hansen.

The Great Z will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Family and Friends visited the family Feb. 15 at Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd., Madison, CT 06443. Funeral Services were held Feb. 16 at St. Margaret’s Church, 24 Academy St., Madison. Committal will be on Feb. 17 at West Cemetery Madison.
