Joseph W. Beecher of Guilford passed away peacefully Jan. 30 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He was the beloved grandson of Daniel W. and Lillian Puffer Dinneen, Jr., of Guilford. He was the brother of Michael Policar of Guilford and son of the late Kimberly Policar. He is also survived by his father Joseph Beecher of Guilford; his extended Beecher family; and a very close friend, Russell Grant.

Joe enjoyed his landscaping business and took great pride in his work. He was a member of the Laborers Union Local 665 of Bridgeport and attended and completed several courses, including pipeline operator preparation classes. In his free time Joe loved to fish and lobster with his grandfather and looked forward to the fishing tournaments, where he won several trophies.
