Old Saybrook

Crescenzo “Enzo” Lettieri, 72, of Old Saybrook, was taken from us too soon on Jan. 11 at the Yale-New Haven Hospital, Guilford Campus. He was the beloved husband of Elaine Caccavale Lettieri. He was born in Pontelatone, Italy, on Dec. 20, 1944, to the late Anthony and Carmina Caputo Lettieri.

Enzo worked for Pasquale Quality Foods, delivering Italian goods and imports up and down the Connecticut shoreline to many area restaurants. He also delivered produce. He was a member of the Derby Italian American Club. Enzo was the kind of man who made you feel welcome the second you met him, whether it was a handshake, smile, or a hug. He was extremely generous and would do anything for a friend or stranger.

He also loved and lived for his family, leaving behind four loving daughters, Antonietta (Paul) Lettieri-Parkin of Spokane, Washington; Letizia (Leonardo) Morales of East Haven; Cinzia Lettieri of Seattle, Washington; and Elena Lettieri of Old Saybrook. He also leaves four precious grandchildren, Aaron Bailey, Marc Solis, Alyssa Morales, and Carmela Welch. He was predeceased by a brother, Marco Lettieri.

The Lettieri family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You for the amazing care they received from the entire staff at the Guilford Smilow Hospital, especially his private nurse Sybil.

The funeral left the East Haven Memorial Longobardi-Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, Jan. 19 for a funeral mass at St. Vincent de Paul Church. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. Friends called Jan. 18. In lieu of flowers, you can log onto https://www.gofundme.com/383jybk and help the family with this campaign.
