New Haven

Joseph M. Sessa, 85, of New Haven died on Jan. 23 at Regency House of Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Mary Russo Sessa. He was born in New Haven on Jan. 5, 1932, to the late John and Concetta Lauritana Sessa.

Joe worked for more than 30 years for the City of New Haven Public School System as a custodian until finally retiring in 1992. He also proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by a son, John Sessa of Middletown; a daughter, Linda (George) D’Addio of Hamden; as well as two grandchildren, Nicole and Jason D’Addio. He was predeceased by four brothers, Salvatore, James, Thomas, and Andrew Sessa; and two sisters, Lena Consiglio and Rachael Poirier.

Burial services were private and at the convenience of the family. He was buried with full Military Honors in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. The East Haven Memorial Longobardi–Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, was in charge of arrangements.
