Joseph Giardiello, 50, died at home in Denver, Colorado, on Dec. 17. He was born in Portland, Maine, on May 5, 1965, to Mario and Rose Giardiello. He graduated from Branford High School in 1983 and enlisted in the US Navy. He served as a naval intelligence officer for eight years, and earned his master’s degree in political science from Chapman College in 1991.

Joe will be laid to rest on Dec. 23 at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado, with military honors.

He dedicated his life to political issues and campaigns that he supported with passion. He managed Senator Tom McClintock’s office for seven years, and spent 30 years consulting for political campaigns. He started one of the first national political websites called Political USA (PUSA) and appeared regularly on national television political talk shows including being a regular on Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect and Hannity and Colmes. He was a weekly guest on the national syndicated radio show Ringside Politics as the Battling Giardiello Brothers. His hero President Ronald Reagan was his model for integrity, loyalty, and passion, ideals that he has passed down to his son Reagan.

He is survived by his son Reagan Giardiello; his mother Rose Giardiello of Branford; brother Anthony Giardiello of East Haven; brother Mario Giardiello of Denver, Colorado; niece Calli Giardiello of Branford; and nieces Bella, Lucia, and Maria Josephina Giardiello of Denver, Colorado. He was predeceased by his father Mario Giardiello.
