Patricia C. Fonicello, 85, of Guile Road, Guilford, died July 23 in Guilford. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Fonicello. Born on April 7, 1930, in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Dora DuBord Collins.

Mrs. Fonicello graduated from Connecticut Teachers College. Before retiring she was a teacher in Guilford Lakes Elementary School for more than 30 years.

She was the loving mother of Carl (Rhonda) Fonicello of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Nancy Fonicello of Wilsall, Montana. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Elyssa S. Fonicello and Thomas K. Fonicello. She was predeceased by her daughter Susan P. Fonicello and sisters Helen Loomis and Dorothy Branson.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on July 29 in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford. Burial followed Mass in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston St., Guilford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan Fonicello Scholarship Fund, c/o Guilford Savings Bank, PO Box 369, Guilford, CT 06437.
